Brow lamination or hybrid brows – which one is for you?

Both give you neater, fuller-looking brows, but they work differently. Hybrid brows add colour and shape; lamination changes the direction of the hairs.

Brow lamination with tint by Nikola at The Blink Beauty, Wakefield

Hybrid brows: colour and shape

A hybrid stain tints the brow hairs and lightly stains the skin underneath, so sparse areas look fuller. Nikola mixes the colour to suit your hair and skin tone, then shapes your brows to frame your face. It suits clients who want more definition and a neat shape without lamination.

Brow lamination: direction and fullness

Lamination sets the brow hairs in a fuller, neater direction. It suits brows that grow in different directions, have gaps, or need more structure. You can add a tint for more definition – it doesn't have to look stiff or heavily brushed up.

How long each one lasts

Brow lamination typically lasts around 4 to 6 weeks. With hybrid brows, the tint on the hairs usually lasts several weeks and the stain on the skin fades sooner, depending on your skin type and aftercare. Neither is a guarantee.

Patch test

Hybrid brows and lamination with tint need a quick patch test at least 24 hours before if it's your first tint with Nikola, or your last one with her was more than 6 months ago. Lamination without tint doesn't need one.

Still not sure?

Many clients choose lamination with tint to get both fullness and colour. If your brows are already dark, lamination alone is often enough. Nikola will look at your brows and advise you honestly before she starts.

Questions

Which is better for sparse brows?

Hybrid brows make sparse areas look fuller because the stain also colours the skin. Lamination with tint adds fullness and colour together. Nikola will advise which suits your brows.

Will my brows look too dark?

Nikola mixes the shade for you and agrees it before she starts. Tell her if you prefer a softer result.
